Additional Services

In addition to providing primary health care needs, CVHS works to provide its patients with additional helpful services.

Mammography Program

Some CVHS sites receive a limited amount of Komen funding. Women who are uninsured or underinsured may be eligible to receive free screening mammograms under the Komen grant program. Dominion Resources Foundation provided additional funding for low income women to receive mammograms free at CVHS - Buckingham.

Reach Out and Read

Reach Out and Read (ROR) promotes early literacy and school readiness in pediatric exam rooms nationwide by giving new books to children and advice to parents about the importance of reading aloud. The Reach Out and Read program is available at our sites in Buckingham, Southern Albemarle, Fredericksburg, Louisa, and Charlotte.

Community Programs

Some sites have unique community programs. In Petersburg, the local YMCA offers pre-diabetes classes. CVHS - Charlotte invites hundreds of community children and their families for an annual safe Halloween.
